Philip and Taylor met one weekend at a mutual friend’s house. Taylor had a rough week at work and decided he needed to get away. Philip just happened to be coming over to their house that night. They both decided to play it cool and not show interest in one another; but before the end of that night, both of them knew that they’d end up together.
Over the next months, they started dating and eventually moved in together. Meeting each other’s friends and family, and traveling together. Which leads us to the marriage portion of our story.
While on their trip to Vegas for Philip’s birthday, Taylor jokingly mentioned that they should take a picture in front of one of the chapels on the strip to mess with their parents. Philip said that was a bad idea and they moved on with their day. Later Philip had the idea to fill out the application online to get their marriage license and send the finalized application. So, Philip went online and did that on his phone. He then sent the application to one of the friend’s group messages.
This lead to a discussion between Spencer, Philip’s best friend, and Philip. In keeping with the joke, Philip was telling Spencer how great of an idea it was. How everyone loves Taylor and that the idea was too good to fail. In convincing Spencer that this was a good plan, Philip convinced himself that it was a good plan.
After getting back to the hotel room, Philip had to convince Taylor that all his months of planning a proposal and trips and asking Philip’s parents for permission to ask was worth throwing caution to the wind and just getting married.
Within twenty four hours of landing in Las Vegas (and a Carrie Underwood Concert) they were married at 11:38 pm on May 25, 2024 at the Stained Glass Chapel in Las Vegas.
